Wing Slats

Parts laid out for all four slats – Port, Starboard x Inboard, Outboard.
All holes pre-drilled to match EXCEPT rib holes were still #40 although aligning with skin holes at #30. Thinking that this was to allow some slop to be taken up in fitting the skins, although it could just be an oversight.
Drawings no longer matched the parts, which caused some head scratching around following instructions on fabricating ‘L’ angles. Eventually I found a drawing showing the new parts that said the ‘L’ angles were no longer required.
Pinning together, and drilling out the ribs, went fairly smoothly for the backsides.
Disassembled again and ready to corrosion proof.
Typical corrosion proofing, ribs pinned and rivetted ribs on bottom side.
Pinned top side ribs and longitudinal skin through to edge on bottom side.
Pinned remaining edge to bottom.
All four ready for final hole drilling on ribs.
Inserting inboard slat into outboard, taped for final fit to wing. Ratchetted down to drill final holes from skin to ribs and rivet A4.
Flipped again and final rivets for bottom seam.
Tips drilled out and rivetted A4. Ready to store for fitting to wings.
